Since September 2023, I am a student ambassador for EPITA (STAFF'COM).
The role is to represent the school, its values and its programs to prospective students, their families,
and partner institutions — in France and internationally.

Context
EPITA is one of the top French engineering schools in computer science. Every year, thousands of high
school students and their families try to understand what studying engineering really means. The STAFF'COM
mission is to be the human face of the school during that crucial decision-making phase.
Missions
International Representation
- Representing EPITA at student fairs and forums in France and abroad.
- Presenting the school's programs, curriculum, and career paths.
- Answering questions from prospective students and their families.
Concours Advance
- Supervising and invigilating admission exams.
- Ensuring the smooth running of sessions under strict timing constraints.
- Handling unexpected situations calmly and professionally.
Candidate Support
- Welcoming and guiding applicants during admission contests.
- Being a reassuring and clear point of contact during stressful moments.
- Answering practical questions about campus life, housing, and studies.
Immersion Days & School Visits
- Guiding future students during immersion days on campus.
- Giving testimonials in high schools about student life and engineering studies.
- Sharing honest feedback about the difficulty and rewards of the curriculum.
Communication & Leadership Training
- Learning sales techniques and communication strategies.
- Developing public speaking, eloquence, and argumentation skills.
- Working on posture, voice, and the ability to adapt a message to a given audience.
What I Learned
Soft Skills
- Public speaking: presenting confidently in front of large audiences.
- Active listening: understanding what people actually need, not just what they ask.
- Adaptability: changing tone and vocabulary depending on the audience (student,
parent, teacher, partner).
- Storytelling: turning a technical curriculum into a compelling narrative.
Professional Skills
- Representation: understanding that I am the face of an institution.
- Responsibility: handling exam sessions with strict rules and zero tolerance for
mistakes.
- Teamwork: coordinating with other ambassadors and school staff.
Why This Experience Matters
STAFF'COM is much more than "being on a stand". It's a long-term commitment to the school, and a real
training ground for leadership, communication, and confidence. It forced me to step
outside the technical bubble and learn how to talk to people who don't code — which is, honestly, one of
the most underrated skills in engineering.
